Train with us because…
Besides also being known as
‘The Really Really Cool Yoga School’:
East of England Yoga School is a hands-on, down-to-earth Yoga Teacher Training Centre that brings together the diverse experience of our tutors, to offer a ‘multi-style’ course that will allow you to experience different yoga styles and ideas, and find your niche as a confident, professional yoga teacher.
We have been training students since 2007, originally as ChillOut Yoga Teacher Training (CYTT) run by Brenda -first in Scotland and then in Suffolk. To date we have introduced over 80 people to the world of yoga teaching: some trained to further their own practice, most have gone on to teach amazing and diverse classes, some have opened yoga studios and run retreats.
Laurence took over the course from Brenda in 2019 and directs and leads the courses, bringing together his diverse skillsets to create courses that focus on educating and empowering our students, sharing his knowledge, passion and skills to inspire the next generation of yoga teachers.
East of England Yoga School is registered with Yoga Alliance Professionals UK (YAP), which assures you are receiving high quality and professional tutoring. Laurence is a Senior Yoga Teacher with YAP, and together with the other course teachers, Brenda and Ali, we have over 12 000 hours teaching yoga – so plenty of experience that we willingly share with you.
Our Multi Style Training is Personalised For You
Being a yoga teacher is not about how flexible you are, your size, your beliefs, your age, legging design or how ‘perfect’ you look in an asana.
The yoga you enjoy practicing is a personal choice, and at East of England Yoga School, we encourage you to develop your own individual and unique approach of teaching, in a ‘style’ that resonates with you.
Your focus may be meditation and mantra or Vinyasa; Chair Yoga or Restorative; perhaps bringing aspects of western movement and body work into your classes… or a combination of different styles.
Our Experienced Teachers Are Here For You
Between Laurence, Brenda, and Ali, we have over 12 000 hours of teaching yoga.
Our commitment to small group sizes means that you get dedicated guidance and instruction, so you don’t become a cardboard cut-out yoga teacher. We assist and guide you on your teaching path, giving you the tools, knowledge and practice for you to develop your own style and find your own voice. You will become the confident, individual and effective professional yoga teacher that you want to be.
Your Practice Will Never be The Same
Our courses are a wonderful opportunity to delve into yourself: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually – a potentially life changing experience. As you open doors to new experiences, we are there for support and mentoring.
We motivate you to explore, develop, deepen and refine your personal practice, so you will teach safely from your own knowledge and experience.
We are Affiliated with Yoga Alliance UK
This means you can rest assured that our course has met high standards & has all requirements for Yoga Alliance UK registered training, For more info about what being part of the Yoga Alliance means, see our Accreditation Page.

A Few Testimonials.

“After 15 years of yoga practice, I decided that I would like to share my experience with others. I started looking for teacher training courses to which there are many. East of England Yoga School 300 hour course stood out for me with the type of training that it offered. Brenda from Chillout Yoga has put together a comprehensive course, covering every thing you need to be a confident teacher. I would certainly recommend Brenda, Laurence and Ali of East of England Yoga School if you are thinking about a teacher training course.”

“I loved the way each student was encouraged to find their own niche/style through an amazing balance of inspirational teaching, guided and personal exploration/creativity/ & encouragement. As we worked our way through various themes, stages and seasons, the course took on its own identity, and evolved into an amazing and unique combination of individuals working together as a cohesive organism, all moving forwards, learning, exploring and becoming stronger. A life-changing experience.”

“I started attending Brenda’s classes as a student while searching for YTT. I’m so glad I did. I adore her style of yoga and teaching. It’s incredibly practical training, providing a great understanding of how the body moves – as well as highlighting how different each body is and how we can help each person. I can happily ask questions, discuss different types of yoga styles and play with the various asanas. Brenda, Ali and Laurence provide a warm, welcoming space for all of us and have helped each member of the group develop their own particular style of teaching – all while making sure the important things are covered. I cannot recommend their training enough. I’ve learnt so much and continue to learn.”
