Applying for the course
Deciding to undertake Yoga Teacher Training is a big commitment, and it’s important to choose a course that is right for you… which may or may not be East of England Yoga School.
Being a yoga teacher does not mean you have to be able to perform asana, or be a certain size or shape. It is your passion and desire to learn and develop your practice that is important.
We prefer that you have at least 2 to 3 years experience in practicing yoga, and a recommendation letter from your yoga teacher, if you have one. We do, however, treat everyone as an individual, and we understand that some people do not have the chance to attend classes or have a regular teacher, so please get in touch if you have any queries or concerns.
How to apply.
To start your application process, please fill out and submit the form below, and we will get back to you for via email or phone for an initial chat. Alternatively, contact us for a chat or if you have any questions.
You will be investing a lot for your training, so it’s important that you feel comfortable with our teaching styles and methods, and, of course, us with you too. If possible, we ask you to attend a class with either Brenda, Laurence or Ali, and have a chat in person. If you are unable to come to our classes, no worries- let’s just chat!
You are also welcome to attend a day on the current East of England Yoga School Training, which will give you more of an idea of what happens during training. Get in touch for dates.
Once we have chatted and/or have met, if you are offered a provisional place with East of England Yoga School, we will send you an application form and T&C’s (which you can view here), which we ask you to complete and return with your deposit as confirmation of your place. This is on a first come, first served basis.
Your information is confidential and will only be seen by tutors involved with East of England Yoga School.
Besides that, there are no prerequisites (besides your regular practice), no pre-course study or reading, you come as you are in the place you are at that moment in time, and we go from there.
Why choose us?
East of England Yoga School is a registered school with Yoga Alliance Professionals, (YAP), a British network organisation for yoga professionals and practitioners, to raise the standards of yoga teaching worldwide. Our course has met their standards, and you can rest assured that we are commited to delivering high quality trainings.
Once qualified, you will be awarded a East of England Yoga School 300 Hour Teacher Training Certificate and can use the letters EoEYS after your name.
Continual Professional Development (CPD) of 20 hours yearly is required after your course completion. Our teachers do offer some CPD, however your CPD need not be with us specifically, giving you the freedom to chose CPD that will further develop your career. This will be discussed on the course.
As an East of England Yoga School teacher, you can have your name and class details on our website. Once qualified, Yoga Alliance Professionals will contact you to invite you to join their register.
